What affects your CRS score
The Comprehensive Ranking System scores Express Entry candidates out of 1,200 points. Your score comes mainly from:
- Age, education and language test results — usually the biggest share of your points
- Work experience, in Canada and abroad
- Your spouse or partner's education, language and Canadian work experience, if they're coming with you
- Additional points, such as French language ability, Canadian education, a sibling in Canada, or a provincial nomination
Small changes — a higher language score, an assessment for a second credential, French results — can make a real difference. Most people don't know which of these apply to them.
How we can help
Every situation is different. GLC Immigration Consulting can help in three ways:
- Consultation: a one-on-one session with Osaro Ezomo, RCIC, to review your profile, your score and your options.
- Full representation: we prepare and submit your application and act as your authorized representative with IRCC, from start to finish.
- Pre-submission review: you prepare your own application, and we review it for errors, gaps and risks before you submit.
Common questions
What is a good CRS score?
There's no fixed passing score. Each Express Entry draw sets its own cut-off, and category-based draws can have very different cut-offs from general draws. What matters is how your score compares with recent draws in the categories you qualify for.
Can a consultant raise my CRS score?
No one can change the scoring rules. What we can do is find points you may be missing and tell you which steps are worth your time and money.
Is the assessment really free?
Yes. The online assessment is free. If you'd like a full review of your situation, paid consultations are available on our booking page.
Who will review my answers?
